where the river meets the sea
Riverland Villas are two lovingly curated homes along the beautiful Ngunguru River in Northland NZ.
Tucked away down a long driveway and sitting on five hectares of land, the villas are surrounded by native bush and the glorious blue-green waters of the river. It’s a haven for rejuvenation and a base for discovering the Tutukaka coastline and forest.
Riverland Villas has been designed, styled and curated to reflect the history of the land with nods to farmers, conservationists, and explorers. Each villa is bespoke, however both feature a warm palette of earthy tones, natural materials and curated collections. The rustic traits of ‘Harakeke’ villa are most obvious through its exposed timber ceilings, while ‘Ruru’ embraces an elegant vintage charm. Both villas are finished in a distinctive orange cladding that is representative of the fiery sunsets over the surrounding mountains.
Several private bush tracks wind around the property, including Riverlands’ very own ‘Kauri Trail’. Birdsong is rich with the forest home to many native birds including Kiwi, Kereru, Tui, Piwakawaka and Ruru. With direct water access, the islands and nooks of the Ngunguru River are able to be explored by boat or paddle.
Riverlands is home for nature lovers, inner explorers, city runaways, and everyone in between.
